Based on the popularity of our genuine Indian madras sport coats, we are now offering a full suit version in our Madison body. This is as elegant as casual gets. The jacket represents the epitome of soft tailoring the easy-to-wear yet smart-looking aesthetic that the Italian courtier, diplomat, and author Baldassare Castiglione must have had in mind when he coined the term sprezzatura. The padding and interior canvas, which can make a coat feel stiff, have been stripped out in favor of a natural shoulder. It has a slightly nipped-in waist and a butterfly lining (a lining covering that top of the coat). Design details include a two-button front, a double-vent in the back, patch hand pockets, and a chest pocket known as a barchetta Italian for little boat, as the sleek curvature of the pocket resembles a small skiff.
